House Party

House Party @ 20 Birchington Rd, West Hampstead June 2006
We decided to have a house party to celebrate birthdays, new room mates ( me & Nic) and just as an excuse to have one.

I live with 3 other great girls and we each invited friends. The friend list had to be capped to accomodate all of us in our small apartment. The night was great. We all decided to tell our guest to wear a certain colour. Just to get the rainbow effect through the house and as a social experiment to see which friends mingled and which colour really mixed if you know what I mean!!!!!. My colour was yellow and as you can see in the picture, Murph let me down! But the majority of people wore the colour scheme and it looked good on the night. Nata´s colour was red, Tash´s green and Nic´s blue. We had a good old BBQ and thanks to Nic, PIMMS was flowing all night. No injuries or wreckage occurred, however a few people, me included, were still drinking on the balcony long enough to see the sun set in the morning! Some guests even topped that by getting up on the roof during sunset, sculling vodka shots.

I now leave my apartment in West Hampstead for my new Job and home in Surrey - South London. I hope the girls invite me around for their next house party. I´ve loved every second living with them!!!!!!!!!

World Cup Fever

WORLD CUP 2006

It's football mad over here as you could imagine. The atmosphere is pumping. England have just made it through to the quarter finals and London pubs are going off! When England plays, everywhere is like a ghost town.

Really enjoying watching Australia play. Loads of Aussie over here and everyone is mad for Football.

Australia v Brazil - Went to the Clapham Grand to watch the match. Tickets were a sell out. They had a massive screen and everyone was dressed in the green and gold. After the defeat, the crowd thinned a everyone was just getting ready for the Croatia show down.

Australia v Croatia - Was heading to the Finchley Road Walkabout to meet friends but the line was massive and was not moving in a hurry. I didn't want to miss the match so I headed down to the local pub "The Railway" on my own! I grabbed a beer, found a spot and loved the excitement. By the end of the match everyone was high fiving each and going crazy. It was so exciting and I can't wait til watch Australia play Italy. The game starts at 4pm so my school has organised a big screen to be set up - Common Aussies!!!!!!

The White Cliffs in Southeast England

SEVEN SITSTER'S COUNTRY PARK - SOUTH EAST LONDON

On Thursday, June 22nd I went with the Biology Class to Seven Sisters Country Park in Sussex Downs, southeast England. The pebbled beach, chalk cliffs and country side was amazing. It is an described as an area of outstanding natural beauty in southeast England and it didn't disappoint.

The Country Park is named after the famous Seven Sisters that form part of the Sussex chalk cliffs on Britain's heritage coastline.

It was a great day, finished off with an icecream and then a few hour bus trip back to school, then the made rush to watch Australia v Croatia!!!!!

O2 Wireless Festival 2006 - Hyde Park

Went to the O2 Wireless Festival on Saturday, June 24th in Hyde Park with Claire, Murph, Joel, Naomi (claire house mate) and Andrienne.

James Blunt, Ben Lee, Eels & Zero 7 were just a few of the big names playing at the festival.

It was awesome. This festival had everything! We drank, danced and sung for the whole day and latter headed back to Adrienne's place in South Kensington and continue to party until early hours of sunday morning.

Seeing Ben Lee (Aussie) play was a real highlight. He was a great entertainer - Funny and loved his lyrics - I think I might even purchase his album.

Enjoying Summer

Summer Picnic's in Regent's Park

Picnic's at any Park in London during summer is great. There are so many parks and the atmoshpere in summer is uplifting - Smile's happen!!!! You think your at the beach. Any slight hint of sun and the Brit's are at the park walking around with shirt's off and in Bikini's. They are mad for it!

A group of us went down and had a picnic in the park on Sunday. It was great to chat and soak up a few rays.
Looking forward to many more picnic's and BBQ's as the weather keeps hotting up.

My 27th Birthday - Celebrated in London

One Year Older - '27'

I've just recently turned a year older - 27 - Slowly 30 is creeping up, but I am enjoying my late 20's.
Was very spoilt at work with cards, cake and perfume, body shop soaps and oils and many other things. The Students and then the teachers sang to me in the dining hall. It was embarassing but nice to be made feel special on the day. They really made me have a great birthday away from home.

Thursday night a group of us went out for Dinner to a local restaurant called 'Small and Beautiful'. The food, atmoshpere and company was great! I had Mussels and Prawns for main - Thought I deserved it!!!
Afterwards we went to the local pub and to my dislike got given a very potent shot, had a few drinks, chatted some more and headed home.

Work Friday was a struggle, but I made it through!!!

It was great to get phone calls and cards and pressies sent from home. Thanks guys!!! I had a great day :)
