Sweden - Stockholm

Stockholm - May 26th-29th Bank Holiday Weekend

First impressions of Stockholm was that it was so clean and neat, trendy and blonde! The streets have no rubbish, it has a great transport system and the apartments are painted in a variety of terracotta colours. The Arlanda airport was quite in comparison to others and the town wasn't as busy as I had expected. It is a gorgeous city surrounded by islands (Archipelago). The Stockholm archipelago is apparently one of the world’s most spectacular. It Stretches 80 kilometres east of the city, and is comprised of 24 000 islands, islets and rocks.

I took a boat cruise, viewing a few islands and stopping at Vaxholm - The archipelago capital. It was a beautiful town with many boats, summer holiday houses, restuarants and bars.

Whilst in Stockholm I went to the old town "Gamla Stan". I went shopping, brought some jeans, had coffee, took photo's and even saw where the Noble prize is awarded. Went to the square and enjoyed walking through the slim town streets.

I took a long walk through the Hagaparken (King's park), viewing his summer stables and holiday house and viewed old viking ruins.

I went to a laid back Stockholm nightclub 'Almänna Galleriet´- Drinking can be very expensive! It closed at 1am - Which was good. This meant Sunday wasn't a right off!

The weather was a little cold and it rained in patches, but when the sun came out it was nice by the water. Many activties to do and see here!

Returned back to London flying with SAS, Monday 29th May around lunchtime.

Portugal - School Senior Girls Soccer Trip - May 4th -6th

Portugal - Lisbon

Flew to Portugal - Lisbon on Thursday May 4th with the Senior Girls soccer team from Interantional School of London.

Went to St. Dominic's International School on arrive, where the students were hosted by families. After they left with them it was off to the hotel for me! We stayed at an amazing hotel. My room was massive - King sized bed with outdoor area. We even got petty cash to spend on every meal and what ever we needed.

The weather was perfect. I got a tan! By day I would meet the squad at the tournament venue, and by night i went back to the hotel where I would meet up with the other coaches! We went out for dinner in Cais Cas on the first night by the beach. The sencond night we sampled traditional portuguese food. Steak in sauce (The sauce surrounded the steak like a soup) and minimal vegies! Enjoyed the beer and a red wine. We then went to Europe's largest Casino in Estoril. Put 10 Euro's on black jack - One at the start then no good!

The tournament was well ran and the girls were amazing, they won a few and lost a few - they were very competitive!

Arrived back to London at 10.30 pm Saturday night and work paid for a cab home.

It was a great perk with this job and I loved every minute of it!

Claire, Ben and Myself have been best buddies over this side of the world. Going to house parties, bbq's, dinners, pubs, bars, watching football matches, and Murph even cooked us girls curry! Very impressive.

Some outing Highlights:
- Artesian Wells bar/club - was that good we have already been twice? no third time on the cards.
- Coffee's at Little Venice ' - Warwick Ave
- Abbey road crossing
- Mission Impossible 3 - we rated this film highly

Here are some photo's from nights out and day trips.

Footloose - The Musical Monday, May 22nd

Last night we had a girls night out to see Footloose. It was amazing! Great songs and dancing. The lead dancer was amazing - it looked like he had springs in his shoes.

The only let down was the weather- constant rain! - my shoes were soaked, which made walking to and from the tube a nightmare.

The girls - Rachel, Amber, Tan, Melinda, Sharon, Kath and me
