Grand Final Day 2006 - Fulham Slug and Lettuce

GRAND FINAL DAY
in FULHAM @ THE SLUG

WEST COAST V SYDNEY
- A 1 point thriller!!!!
Grand Final day in London 2007 was almost as good as being in OZ.
Joel, Ben, Claire, Tash, Adrienne and I met in Fulham at the Slug and Lettuce to feel a part of the big GF with fellow Aussies. We got there at 4am to get a good posie in front of the Big screen!
The game was one of the best ever! A comeback from the Swans made it a party never to be forgotten, with west Coast winning by a point!!!!
What an unreal atmosphere. Full of Aussies bonding, singing the national anthem and belting out good old Aussie tunes. Plenty of beer & magners was flowing and it turned into a huge session.
Almost 11 hours Claire and I left (maybe got kicked out) the Shepard's Bush Walkabout around 2.30pm. Murph and Joel kicked on I think lasted 24 hours. Huge effort by all!!!!

Brighton Beach

Brighton Beach - South of London

Sunday day trip with Ben!
We caught the train down early on Sunday, from Caterham to East Croydon and then to Brighton. The weather was great - 24 degrees!! Pretty good for this time of year so I'm told!
Checked out the shops then walked down to the pebbled beach. Wandered through the beach markets, viewed some junior beach volleyballers (poor standards) and several acts (again - not that thrilling).
Walked the Pier, people watched, checked out the amusements and ate fish and chips on the beach - which was good but we regretted it afterwards - Don't you always!!!!

We then both bought a book and hired deck chairs and relaxed on the beach for a few hours before calling it a day. Murpm made me buy Agatha Christie - He couldn't believe I hadn't read one yet!!!! Page 17 and already lost interest!!! I'll give it another go one day!

After train delays and buses heading in the wrong direction, we finally made it back to East Croydon - had some noodles at a noodle bar and headed our spearate ways - ready for another week of work.

It was a nice break to get out of Lodon for a day....
