Sweden - Stockholm

Stockholm - May 26th-29th Bank Holiday Weekend

First impressions of Stockholm was that it was so clean and neat, trendy and blonde! The streets have no rubbish, it has a great transport system and the apartments are painted in a variety of terracotta colours. The Arlanda airport was quite in comparison to others and the town wasn't as busy as I had expected. It is a gorgeous city surrounded by islands (Archipelago). The Stockholm archipelago is apparently one of the world’s most spectacular. It Stretches 80 kilometres east of the city, and is comprised of 24 000 islands, islets and rocks.

I took a boat cruise, viewing a few islands and stopping at Vaxholm - The archipelago capital. It was a beautiful town with many boats, summer holiday houses, restuarants and bars.

Whilst in Stockholm I went to the old town "Gamla Stan". I went shopping, brought some jeans, had coffee, took photo's and even saw where the Noble prize is awarded. Went to the square and enjoyed walking through the slim town streets.

I took a long walk through the Hagaparken (King's park), viewing his summer stables and holiday house and viewed old viking ruins.

I went to a laid back Stockholm nightclub 'Almänna Galleriet´- Drinking can be very expensive! It closed at 1am - Which was good. This meant Sunday wasn't a right off!

The weather was a little cold and it rained in patches, but when the sun came out it was nice by the water. Many activties to do and see here!

Returned back to London flying with SAS, Monday 29th May around lunchtime.
